Mouni Roy has traveled an illustrious journey from television stardom to silver screen and digital platforms, however, the journey to stardom is never easy for an actress. Mouni Roy recently appeared on Apoorva Mukhija’s show and told how, when she was only 21 years old, a man had behaved rudely with her while narrating and due to this she remained traumatized for a long time.

Actually Mouni was asked whether she had to face casting couch during her acting journey. On this Mouni said, “Casting couch did not happen, but there was misbehavior.” Mouni Roy had told, “I was 21-22 years old, and I had gone to someone’s office where people were inside the office and narration was being given. Suddenly, a scene came where the girl falls into the swimming pool, becomes unconscious, and the hero takes her out and gives her mouth-to-mouth breaths, and she regains consciousness.”
Mouni Roy further said, “That man literally held my face and made me do mouth-to-mouth breathing. For that one moment I did not understand what happened to me, I started trembling and I ran down. Seriously, I was scared for a long time.”

Mouni’s acting journey started with the long running daily soap “Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi” on television. After this, she appeared in many TV shows and made her mark in the Hindi television industry by participating in reality and dance based shows. Her first major success came when she played the mythological character Sati in “Devon Ke Dev…Mahadev”.
But the role of the shape-shifting serpent Shivanya in the supernatural series Naagin and its sequel made her a household name. The show became one of the highest TRP-getting programs on Indian television. She made her official debut in Hindi cinema with the 2018 sports drama Gold opposite Akshay Kumar. Over the years, she has also appeared in many songs from films like KGF: Chapter 1. She has also appeared in films like Brahmastra: Part One – Shiva, Blackout, Veda, LSD 2 and Romeo Akbar Walter. She made her web-series debut with Sultan of Delhi and also worked with Emraan Hashmi in Showtime.
