Netflix series made under the direction of Aryan Khan ,The Bads of Bollywood, A written affidavit was filed against former Narcotics Control Bureau officer Sameer Wankhede in the defamation case. The IRS officer alleged that in the web series he has been shown as a corrupt and wrong officer.

Sameer Wankhede said that the character of the series is similar to him whose dialogues, style and look are all similar to him. Because of this people are recognizing. He alleged that this content is revenge for the Aryan Khan case. He has said in the affidavit that this is not a satire, but a deliberate attempt to defame him.

Sameer also said that he is an honest office who has received many honours. But after this series, the family is also facing online abuse and trolling. Sameer has demanded that the controversial scenes of this series should be removed immediately.

Reply filed by Red Chillies Entertainment

Shahrukh’s company Red Chillies Entertainment has filed its written reply on this petition of Sameer Wankhede in Delhi High Court. It is stated in this affidavit that ,The Bads of Bollywood, It is completely fictional and satirical based on the functioning of the Bollywood industry and the hustle and bustle of the glamor world. Apart from this, these things were also said in this reply-

  • Red Chillies Company made it clear that the characters shown in the series have no relation to any real person and a disclaimer has also been given at the beginning that any similarity with any person, organization or event is merely coincidental.
  • In its reply in the court, Red Chillies said that the allegation raised by Sameer Wankhede that the series has damaged his reputation is legally baseless and baseless.
  • The company also said in its response that the disputed scene is only 1 minute 48 seconds long, which is an essential part of the entire story. Removing it would make the story incomplete and inconsistent. Apart from this, Red Chillies claimed that Wankhede has already been involved in controversies and their claim of innocent image is false.

Red Chillies told the court that people holding public office should have the ability to tolerate criticism, satire and artistic portrayal, this is part of democracy. The company argues that a prior ban in such cases would be an attack on freedom of expression and would affect the creative freedom of artists and filmmakers.

In its filing in the court, its company said that this lawsuit is a result of Wankhede’s hypersensitivity and not of any actual insult. Red Chillies has also demanded the High Court to dismiss Wankhede’s petition and impose a fine on Sameer Wankhede, calling the case legally baseless.
