Reports of an attack on the vehicle of Minister of State for Social Welfare Sanjeev Singh Gond in Sonbhadar are coming out. The incident has taken place at a time when Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath is expected to visit Sonbhadra on December 15. The incident in Chopan town area has created tension in both administration and political circles.
Reports of an alleged attack on the vehicle of Minister of State for Social Welfare Sanjeev Singh Gond have heated up the political scene in the district. The minister was reportedly returning to Dala from Robertsganj with Zilla Panchayat Member Representative Sanjeev Tiwari when some youths tried to overtake their vehicle near Chopan Bridge and allegedly attacked the hood and windshield. On receiving the information, the police reached the spot. A case has been registered against one named and two unidentified persons.
Police have also seized a car with Lucknow registration number and arrested a person. Giving information about the matter, SP Abhishek Verma said that on the night of October 30, the social welfare minister and his colleagues were going to Dala from Robertsganj when a fight broke out between the minister’s Scotch vehicle and another car. Chopan police took immediate action and impounded the car bearing number UP32 KP1042. The vehicle owner and driver Ankit Mishra has been arrested, while two other youths in the car, Shubham Soni and Pankaj Agrahari, are currently absconding.
SP Abhishek Verma said that the case was related to an overtaking dispute, but based on the complaint, a case has been registered and the search for the other accused is on. In this incident, there was an altercation between the Scott vehicle and another car in the minister’s convoy. One person has been arrested, while two others are absconding. Police are conducting a raid to nab them.
