The film ‘Thama’, directed by Aditya Sarpotdar and part of Maddock’s horror comedy franchise, was the much awaited film of the year. After hitting the theaters, this romantic horror comedy had a spectacular opening as expected and within no time it crossed the Rs 100 crore mark. A rise in its earnings has also been seen on the second weekend. Let us know here how much collection has ‘Thama’ made on the 13th day of its release i.e. second Sunday?
How much did ‘Thama’ earn on the 13th day?
Ayushmann Khurrana, Rashmika Mandanna and Nawazuddin Siddiqui’s horror comedy film ‘Thamaa’ did great business in the first week of its release but as it entered the second week, it is now facing tough competition from SS Rajamouli’s ‘Baahubali: The Epic’ in theatres. Due to this, ‘Thama’ has missed out on making huge earnings on the weekend. However, a slight increase in its collection was definitely seen.
Talking about the business of the film, ‘Thama’ did a business of Rs 108.4 crore in the first week. On the 11th day i.e. second Friday, the film collected Rs 3 crores, while on the 12th day, ‘Thama’ showed a growth of 46.67 percent and earned Rs 4.4 crores.
- According to the early trend report of Sacknilk, ‘Thama’ has done a business of Rs 3.85 crore on the 13th day of its release i.e. second Sunday.
- With this, the total earning of ‘Thama’ in 13 days has now become Rs 119.65 crore.
‘Thama’ becomes Ayushmann Khurrana’s third biggest film
Of course, ‘Thama’ could not earn bumper in the second weekend but it has become the third biggest film of Ayushmann Khurrana’s career by earning Rs 119.65 crore. It has beaten the lifetime collection of the actor’s 2017 film Bala of Rs 116.38 crore. Now its target is Badhaai Ho (Rs 137.31 crore). By the third weekend, ‘Thamaa’ can even defeat ‘Badhaai’ Ho.
Will ‘Thama’ get the tag of hit?
Looking at the initial week’s earnings of ‘Thama’, it seemed that it would soon recover its cost but after crossing the figure of Rs 100 crore, the film has become a victim of the market. Even on the second weekend, there was no significant increase in its earnings. In such a situation, this film has been able to earn only Rs 119.65 crore after 13 days of release. To get the hit tag, ‘Thama’ will have to earn double its cost (145 crores) at the box office.
However, looking at the pace of the film’s earnings, it seems impossible for it to get the hit tag. Anyway, its collection will already start declining as soon as it enters weekdays from the second Monday. In such a situation, it is a big thing that it recovers its cost. Now it remains to be seen how ‘Thama’ performs at the box office.
