Guava is a diabetes friendly fruit. It is rich in dietary fibers, vitamin C and antioxidants. Also the glycemic dose is very low. That is why it is said that people with diabetes can also eat it.
But two types of guava are sold in the market. One is white guava. The second is pink guava. Although both are good for health, let’s see which guava is more useful for diabetes.
Rose guava is rich in antioxidants called lycopene. This lycopene helps protect the heart and reduce the risk of cancer. Keeps the body healthy.
White guava contains very high amount of dietary fibers. These fibers reduce glucose absorption and help flush out waste from the body. Eating these also improves digestion.
Also, the lycopene and vitamin C present in pink guava kill free radicals that damage the pancreas and vascular tissues and help insulin work properly.
These fibers control bowel movements. Helps reduce bad cholesterol. It is essential for diabetic patients.
So if you look at it, pink guava is good for diabetes. Due to their high fiber content, the body absorbs less sugar. Blood sugar is under control. So one or two guavas a day must be eaten.
