Crime News: The sensational murder case of UPSC candidate Ramkesh Meena (32) in Delhi’s Gandhi Vihar area has been solved. North Delhi DCP Raja Bantia said that Ramkesh’s live-in partner, his girlfriend, a forensic student, and two of his accomplices have been arrested in connection with the murder. The arrested accused have been identified as Amrita Chauhan (21), Sumit Kashyap (27) and Sandeep Kumar (29), all residents of Moradabad (UP).
Amrita Chauhan alleges that deceased Ramkesh had taken obscene photos and videos of her and stored them on his laptop. When Amrita asks him to delete the photos and videos, Ramkesh refuses, leading to the murder plan. Amrita had watched several crime serials to make the murder look like an accident, which gave her the idea.
On October 6, a fire was reported on the fourth floor of Gandhi Vihar. Initially, it was reported that an AC had exploded and after extinguishing the fire, the police found the charred body of Ramkesh Meena. CCTV footage was examined during the investigation, which showed two masked men coming and going from the house. As the masked men leave, the house explodes.
When the police started investigating, they found that the deceased Ramkesh Meena was living in a live-in relationship with a woman. The people seen in the CCTV footage were identified, and Amrita’s mobile location was found near the scene. During interrogation, Amrita confesses to plotting the murder along with her ex-lover, Sumit, and Sumit’s friend, Sandeep.
A forensic science student, Amrita knew how to make a murder look like an accident. On 6 October, Amrita and Sumit entered the house and strangled Ramkesh to death. Then they put ghee, oil, liquor and any flammable material available in the house on his body. They placed a gas cylinder pipe near the body and turned it on.
The blast happened shortly after Amrita and Sumit left the house. The police used CCTV footage to expose this attempt to pass off the murder as an accident. The police recovered a hard disk, trolley bag, shirt of the deceased and two mobile phones.
