Delhi UPSC Student Murder Case: Delhi Police has arrested three people in connection with the sensational murder of Ramkesh Meena in North Delhi’s Timarpur area. Among them is 21-year-old Amrita Chauhan, a student of B.Sc.Forensic Science. Amrita had plotted to kill her acquaintance Ramkesh Meena, 32, who was preparing for the UPSC examination. Amrita strangled him and later burnt Ramkesh Meena.

On the night of October 6, a fire broke out on the fourth floor of a building in Timarpur. When the firemen arrived, they found a charred body in the pile of ashes. At first everyone thought it was an accident, but a forensic examination revealed otherwise. CCTV footage showed two masked men and then a youth and a woman exiting the building. This made the police more suspicious.

Amrita Chauhan was a student of Forensic Science. Amrita Chauhan along with Sandeep Kumar and Sumit Kashyap had conspired to kill Ramkesh Meena. Accused Sumit Kashyap was Amrita Chauhan’s boyfriend earlier. While Sumit Kashyap was working in a gas company. According to the police, the trio strangled Ramkesh to death on the night of October 5 and 6. They then poured ghee, oil and wine into the room and set it on fire. Sumit, a gas cylinder distributor, opened the cylinder and detonated it. Which makes everything seem like an accident. In no time, a huge explosion engulfed the entire room and Ramkesh’s body was beyond recognition.

Hard disk, trolley bag and deceased’s shirt seized- (UPSC Student Murder Case)

When the family of the deceased declared the incident suspicious, the police checked the call detail records. This led to the discovery of Amrita Chauhan, whose mobile phone location was in the same area on the night of the incident. The police seized the hard disk, trolley bag and shirt of the deceased. Two mobile phones used in the crime were also seized. Police are now interrogating all three accused and conducting further investigations, trying to find out if anyone else was involved in the conspiracy.

During police interrogation, Amrita confessed to the crime and narrated the sequence of events in detail. Amrita Chauhan said that she had a consensual relationship with deceased Ramkesh Meena since May 2025. When Ramkesh was asked to delete the obscene photos and videos, he refused. After this, Amrita told all this to ex-boyfriend Sumit Kashyap. Sumit involved his friend Sandeep in the murder. On the night of October 5-6, all the three strangled Ramkesh to death.
