Sikandar Shaikh Arrested: Mohali Police in Punjab along with Maharashtra Kesari Sikandar Shaikh (Sikandar Shaikh) Four persons were arrested and the interstate arms supply network was exposed. Sikandar had allegedly gone to Mohali with the intention of procuring weapons for the local network. He was arrested during a transaction at Gopal Sweets near Airport Chowk along with UP’s Danveer and Bunty. A total of five pistols and live cartridges were seized by the police during the operation.

Police suspect that the network has links with multiple state-based gangs that send money through Punjab.. Sikandar Shaikh (age 26) is a national level wrestler who hails from Solapur. Among the other accused, Danveer is a resident of Mathura in Uttar Pradesh. He is the key operative of Papala Gujjar gang. Danveer has several cases of murder, dacoity and Arms Act cases in Haryana, Uttar Pradesh and Rajasthan. Bunty (age 26) is also a resident of Mathura, Uttar Pradesh. Krishna Kumar alias Happy Gujjar (aged 22) hails from Nadda village in SAS Nagar. Sikandar’s arrest has revealed that sportsmen with links to crime are being used as faces for inter-state arms deals. Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Harmandeep Singh Hans informed that raids are being conducted in Uttar Pradesh and Haryana to trace the chain of the gang and further investigation is underway.

Meanwhile, Sikandar Sheikh has been caught in arms smuggling. Although Sikandar is originally from Solapur, he has trained in wrestling in Kolhapur. He took wrestling lessons at Gangavesh Talami in Kolhapur. Won the prestigious Maharashtra Kesari title in Maharashtra two years ago. So his name reached every household in Maharashtra. He was then recruited into the Indian Army from the Sports Quota. However, the job was abandoned. Sikander is a graduate and has been living in a rented house in Punjab for the past few months.
