Mumbai News: Rohit Arya, who held 17 children hostage in Powai, the capital of Maharashtra, Mumbai, has died during treatment. According to reports, Rohit fired at the police. The police retaliated, in which the accused was injured. The police rushed him to the hospital, where he died during treatment.
A dramatic situation prevailed for over an hour at the RA studio near the L&T building in Mumbai’s Powai area on Thursday afternoon. Boys and girls as young as 15 were called for “auditions”.
Before rescuing the children, Arya released a video on social media, saying that he wanted to talk to some people and ask them questions, and he didn’t want any money. Arya threatens to set fire to the studio if she is not allowed to do so.
Police said that at 1:45 a.m. they received information that an airgun and some chemicals were found at the scene of the incident. The accused was alone. They tried to find out the reason, but he was adamant. The crime scene investigation is ongoing. According to police, there were two other people in the room, including an elderly man.
In this case, the Mumbai Police said that all the children are safe and have been sent back to their parents. More details will be shared soon after proper verification. A man named Rohit Arya had taken some children hostage in Mumbai’s Powai area, police said.
