Sapta Purilu: Paths to salvation
There is a mention of Sapta Mokshadayaka Kshetras in Hindu scriptures. These seven cities are considered to be places where the four paths of Dharma, Tapas, Wisdom and Moksha converge.  According to Puranas, the soul gets salvation by living or dying in these cities.  
These are the seven salvific fields
Ayodhya (Uttar Pradesh)
Sri Mahavishnu was born as Sri Rama to kill Ravana in the Treta Yuga. Ayodhya is the birthplace of Rama. A symbol of honor, truth and righteousness. This city is a great example of dharma, ideal life
Mathura (Uttar Pradesh)
Lord Vishnu was born as Lord Krishna in Dwaparayuga. Mathura is one of the important places where Lord Krishna was born. Here the sense of love, passion and devotion is supreme. This place is the center of the path of devotion. Here God is seen in the form of love.
Haridwar (Uttarakhand)
Located on the banks of river Ganga, this city is associated with penance, sadhana and bathing. The Kumbh Mela tradition has made it known worldwide as the gateway to salvation.
Kashi (Varanasi, Uttar Pradesh)
Kashi is a city built by Shiva himself. Here it is said that even death becomes a path to salvation. This place is considered as a center of knowledge, meditation and practice. It is a must visit place for every Hindu in his lifetime
Kanchi (Tamil Nadu)
This ancient city of South India is home to Kamakshi, Lord Vishnu. It is considered a confluence of education, science and spirituality.
Avantika (Madhya Pradesh)
Mahakaleshwara Jyotirlingam is located here. It is said that the secrets of karma are hidden here. It has the same prestige as Char Dhams.
 
Dwarka (Gujarat)
Dwarka is the capital of Lord Krishna. This city is a symbol of dharma, ethics and balance of duties. It is the Dham in the western direction, which gives direction to the whole of India.
