As per media reports, talking about the 8th Pay Commission, it is expected that there will be a good increase in DIG salary after its implementation. If the fitment factor is 2.86, the salary will be around Rs. 3,74,946 can be reached.

According to reports, DIGs also get various allowances. These include House Rent Allowance, Dearness Allowance, Travel Allowance, other special allowances which further increase their monthly salary.

When was it approved?

Talking about the 8th Pay Commission, the Union Cabinet has approved it in early 2025. However, no notification has been received in this regard yet. But the Cabinet meeting held on Tuesday agreed to release the notification. The 8th Pay Commission will benefit more than 50 lakh central government employees and around 65 lakh pensioners.
