Generally, if the life certificate is not submitted on time, the government may withhold the pension. It is known that a life certificate is a document that proves that the pensioner is still alive. The government asks for this certificate every year to ensure that the pension is going to the right person and there is no fraud. Earlier, senior citizens had to visit banks or government offices to submit this certificate. Now this task is very easy. Pensioners have to submit their life certificate to the government between 1st November to 30th November every year. If not, there is a risk that your pension will stop from next month.
How to submit life certificate from home
Now senior citizens need not stand in bank queues to submit life certificate. The government has digitized this process. So you can sit at home and submit your life certificate through Jeevan Praman app. For this, Aadhaar biometric authentication is done from mobile or laptop. Alternatively, the process can be completed by calling a post office agent at home. This way you can get and submit the life certificate without going anywhere.
If these documents are not there pension may stop
- Age proofs- Along with life certificate there are some other important documents which cause pension to stop. Proof of age is one of them. For this you need to show Aadhaar Card, Voter ID, Ration Card, Date of Birth Certificate, 10th Class Marks List, Passport or Driving License.
- Address Proof- Without your address proof your pension may stop. For proof of address you need to show any document like Aadhaar card, electricity bill, bank pass book or ration card.
- Bank details- Incorrect bank details may stop your pension. It is very important that your bank account number, IFSC code, copy of pass book is correct in the pension details.
- Pension Related Information- If the information related to pension is not correct then the pension may stop. In such situation it is necessary to have PPO number or pension ID, income certificate with you.
