A mountain of sorrow has fallen on Bollywood actor Pankaj Tripathi. The actor’s mother Hemwanti Devi has passed away at the age of 89. He breathed his last at his home in Gopalganj district of Bihar. The last rites of Pankaj’s mother have also taken place. In this hour of grief, Pankaj Tripathi’s team has issued a statement and appealed to everyone to respect his privacy.
Pankaj Tripathi’s mother died on October 30, 2025. His funeral was held on Saturday (November 1, 2025) in Belsund, surrounded by close family members, relatives and friends. The statement issued by the actor’s team reads – ‘We are very sad to inform you that Shri Pankaj Tripathi’s beloved mother Hemwanti Devi passed away peacefully on Friday in her hometown Belsand, Gopalganj, Bihar. She was 89 years old and was ill for some time.
‘Respect privacy and allow time to grieve in peace’
It is further written in the statement – ‘He breathed his last peacefully in his sleep, surrounded by his close ones. Pankaj Tripathi was with him in his last moments. The Tripathi family is shocked by this immense loss and makes a humble appeal to everyone to keep Mrs. Hemwanti Devi in their prayers. The family also requests the media and well-wishers to respect their privacy in this hour of grief and give them time to mourn peacefully.
Father died in 2023
Let us tell you that both the parents of Pankaj Tripathi are no more in this world. The actor’s father Pandit Banaras Tiwari passed away on August 21, 2023. Pankaj Tripathi was in Mumbai at that time, but as soon as he heard the news of his father’s demise, he immediately reached Bihar for the last rites.
