During police interrogation, Amrita confessed to the crime and narrated the sequence of events in detail. Amrita Chauhan said that she had a consensual relationship with deceased Ramkesh Meena since May 2025. When Ramkesh was asked to delete the obscene photos and videos, he refused. After this, Amrita told all this to ex-boyfriend Sumit Kashyap. Sumit involved his friend Sandeep in the murder. On the night of October 5-6, all the three strangled Ramkesh to death. Later, they poured petrol and alcohol in the room and set the body on fire. Sumit is a gas cylinder distributor in Moradabad. He opened the cylinder and set it on fire so that the explosion looked like an accident.

On the morning of October 6, 2025, the Delhi Police received information about a fire on the fourth floor of a building in Gandhi Vihar. Firefighters brought the fire under control, but the scene inside was shocking. A charred body was lying there. He was identified as 32-year-old Ramkesh Meena, who lives there and was preparing for UPSC. It was initially believed to be a gas leak accident, but the condition of the body and the objects scattered in the room led the police to suspect it. After the incident, when the crime squad and FSL team reached the spot, the entire conspiracy started unraveling when the nearby CCTV footage was examined. At around 2.20 a.m. on October 5 and 6, two masked men entered the building and only one came out. At 2.57am, a woman, later identified, was seen leaving the building with her boyfriend. A fire broke out after a few minutes. The police obtained Amrita’s mobile data and call records and located her near Gandhi Vihar that night. After all these investigations, the entire crime was revealed.
