India A vs South Africa A 1st Test Match : An unofficial Test match is currently being played between India ‘A’ and South Africa ‘A’ in Bangalore. Rishabh Pant is leading India ‘A’ team in this match. South Africa ‘A’ team was bowled out for 309 runs in the first innings. Tanush Kotian bowled brilliantly and took 4 wickets and became India’s most successful bowler. On the other hand, the 18-year-old young batsman started India’s innings strongly. Ayush Mhatre grabbed everyone’s attention by scoring an aggressive half-century.
18 year old Ayush Mhatre shined
Ayush Mhatre scored a blistering knock of 65 off 76 balls, which included 10 fours. Mhatre, who made his debut from Chennai Super Kings, batted brilliantly in red ball cricket as well as in ODIs. He was recently the captain of the India U-19 team and has now made it to the ‘A’ team as well. However, experienced batsmen Devdutt Padikkal and Sai Sudarshan did not perform as expected.

Padikkal and Sudarshan’s disappointment
Many questions were raised about Devdutt Padikkal not being given a chance in the Tests against the West Indies. But in this match too he was dismissed in the first innings with only 6 runs off 22 balls. Sai Sudarshan scored only 32 runs from 94 balls.
Rishabh Pant’s failure, Rajat Patidar also calm
All eyes were on captain Rishabh Pant as he made his comeback from a leg injury. He was sidelined after suffering a fractured thumb during the England tour. He is keen to make a strong comeback as vice-captain in the Test series against South Africa starting November 14.
However, Pant could not shine in this unofficial test match. He was caught for 17 runs off 20 balls with the help of 2 fours. Meanwhile, Rajat Patidar, who came to the ‘A’ team after performing consistently in domestic cricket, was also disappointed. He scored just 19 off 35 balls with one four and was also dismissed cheaply.
