Mohammed Shami In Ranji Trophy : Indian cricket team fast bowler Mohammed Shami (Mohammed Shami) is doing a great performance in Ranji Trophy. Shami took 8 wickets in just 28 overs. In the previous match too, he had taken 7 wickets against Uttarakhand. So Shami has been consistently strong for Bengal and with his penetrating bowling he is sending a clear message to the selectors that he is fully fit and ready to make a comeback in Team India. Currently, Team India is on a tour of Australia, where a series of 5 T20 matches will be played. However, Shami is not in this team.

‘If I say anything, I will get angry…’

This time during the Bengal vs Gujarat Ranji Trophy match at the Eden Gardens in Kolkata, R.P. Mohammed Shami avoided making any controversial statement while talking to Singh. “I am always in controversies. You (the media) have made me a bowler. If I say anything, I will get angry. What can I say now, anyone says anything on social media,” he said in a light-hearted tone. Notably, the Test series between India and South Africa starts on November 14. Given Shami’s recent scintillating form, there is a strong possibility of his return to the team.

Tension between Shami and selectors

Mohammad Shami last played an international match for India in the 2025 Champions Trophy. He is out of the team after that. Chief selector Ajit Agarkar had replied “no update” when asked about Shami’s fitness in a press conference. To which Shami replied while talking to the media, “I am ready to play. If I was not fit, how would I have played in the Ranji Trophy?” When Shami’s statement reached Agarkar, he said, “I think Shami and I need to sit down and talk about it.” Overall, Shami’s consistent performances in the Ranji Trophy could see him back in Team India.
