Mumbai : The elections of Mumbai Cricket Association (MCA), the leading organization in the world of cricket in the state, have increased in color. Shiv Sena leader and minister Pratap Sarnaik’s son Vihang Sarnaik is being lobbied for the post of MCA president. Deputy Chief Minister Eknath Shinde, Minister Pratap Sarnaik and Minister Ashish Shelar met Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis at Mantralaya on Tuesday. On the other hand, the current MCA president Ajinkya Naik is again in the fray for the post of president. So, Minister Ashish Shelar and Minister Pratap Sarnaik are against the selection of Ajinkya Naik. However, members of various Mumbai clubs met NCP chief Sharad Pawar today, saying that there should be no politics in the MCA elections.
NCP surveyor and former MCA president Sharad Pawar was met by members of various clubs in Mumbai. These members had come for a meeting at YB Chavan Center in Mumbai on Wednesday at 6 pm in connection with the MCA elections. At that time, the members requested Sharad Pawar that increasing political interference in the MCA elections was wrong and that a person related to sports should be the president again. Meanwhile, former minister Jitendra Awad, MLA Milind Narvekar were also present on the occasion.
Sharad Pawar said that I have never brought politics in MCA, this is what I hope even now. Sharad Pawar expressed hope that the Chief Minister till now has not played politics in cricket and Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis will also not play politics in the cricket field and will stand in favor of cricket. Also, Sharad Pawar praised Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis saying that politics should be kept aside in cricket and that is what Devendra Fadnavis is doing. Therefore, from the speech of Sharad Pawar, it was clearly seen that Ajinkya Naik will once again be in the race for the post of MCA president.
Pratap Sarnaik also met Sharad Pawar
Minister Pratap Sarnaik’s son Vihang is in the race for the post of president of the ‘Mumbai Cricket Association’. Therefore, in view of Pawar’s political dominance in this organisation, Sarnaik met Sharad Pawar at ‘Silver Oak’ residence. However, he had told the media that he only met Pawar to wish him Diwali. But, the sources have come forward with the information that there is cricket politics behind this meeting.
