Shreyas Iyer Injury Update : There is a comforting news for India from Australia. Indian ODI team vice-captain Shreyas Iyer is completely out of danger now. On Thursday (October 30) morning, Shreyas Iyer himself informed about his condition. In the third ODI against Australia in Sydney, Shreyas suffered a serious injury to his ribs while catching Alex Carey. So he was immediately admitted to the hospital. The injury was so severe that he was admitted to the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) for some time. Even doctors initially said that the situation was serious.

But now Shreyas’ condition is improving and he is recovering. Sharing the story on Instagram, he wrote, “My health is improving now and I am getting fitter every day. I am extremely grateful for everyone’s well wishes and support during this time.

In the third ODI, Shreyas was hit in the ribs while trying to catch Alex Carey off Harshit Rana. He went off the field with the help of a physio, but after a while his health suddenly deteriorated. Body temperature, pulse rate and blood pressure became uncontrolled. He was immediately admitted to a hospital in Sydney. On examination, it was found that the spleen was ruptured and due to this, internal bleeding was occurring. That is why doctors put him in ICU and kept him under constant observation.

What did the BCCI say?

The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) said in a statement that Shreyas’ condition is now stable. “Treatment was started as soon as the injury occurred and the bleeding was immediately stopped. A re-examination on October 28 also showed good improvement. Shreyas is now recovering. BCCI’s medical team is continuously monitoring his condition with the advice of experts in Sydney and India,” the board said. In short, doctors and team management have assured that Shreyas Iyer will be fully recovered soon.
