ICC Womens World Cup Final: The final match of the Women’s World Cup 2025 will be played on Sunday between the Indian women’s cricket team and the South African women’s cricket team. India have reached the finals twice before but never won the title, while South Africa are making it to the finals for the first time. BCCI Secretary Devjit Saikia has made a big announcement before the mega final. He attributed Team India’s success to ICC president Jai Shah, who was previously the BCCI secretary.

Speaking to PTI, the BCCI secretary said, “Under Jay Shah’s leadership, the BCCI has developed a strong roadmap to promote women’s cricketwhich included launching the Women’s Premier League (WPL) and ensuring pay parity between male and female players for international matches. Our aim has always been to encourage and empower women cricketers.”

Victory will be celebrated with great enthusiasm

The Indian women’s cricket team reached the World Cup final for the first time in 2005, when Australia defeated India in the final to become champions. In 2017, the Indian team reached the final for the second time, where England won the title. Now, India is in the final for the third time. The BCCI secretary assured that if Team India wins, the celebration will be grand. Speaking to PTI, he said, “If the Indian team becomes the world champion, we will definitely celebrate their victory in a grand manner.” The Women’s World Cup 2025 final will be played on Sunday, November 2 at the DY Patil Stadium in Navi Mumbai. The match will start at 3 PM and the toss will be held at 2:30 PM.
