Why Players Wore Black Armbands During Ind vs Aus Semi Final
India and Australia women players wear black armbands during matches. This strip is built as a tribute to the young Australian cricketer Ben Austin. Austin, just 17 years old, died in an unfortunate accident during practice.
Ben Austin took batting practice in front of an automatic bowling machine at his club’s nets on Tuesday. Although he was wearing a helmet, the ball hit his neck. He was rushed to hospital, but died during treatment on Wednesday. Therefore, both the teams paid a heartfelt tribute to him by tying a black armband.
Both teams are wearing black armbands today to pay their respects to 17-year-old Melbourne cricketer Ben Austin, who sadly passed away following an accident while batting in the nets on Tuesday night.#TeamIndia | #WomenInBlue | #CWC25 | #INDvAUS pic.twitter.com/Qhn1B2DmsF
