The cyclonic system developing over the Bay of Bengal may turn into a storm within 24 hours. According to the India Meteorological Department (IMD), it is likely to turn into a severe cyclonic storm ‘Montha’ in the next 48 hours. The cyclone is currently centered about 620 km from Port Blair and 780 km southeast of Chennai. Due to Montha, Andhra Pradesh, Telangana, Odisha, Chhattisgarh and Tamil Nadu are expected to receive heavy to very heavy rains from October 27 to 30. Keeping this in mind, the army has been put on alert.
According to the weather department, the weather is going to change in the next 3 days in the capital of the country, Delhi. On October 27 and 28, the influence of Western Disturbance may lead to light drizzle or rain showers in the evening or night, while on October 29, the weather will be partly clear.
Weather of UP
UP will also see a change in weather patterns. The IMD has issued a rain alert in the state for the next 4 days from October 27. Rain and thundershowers are expected at isolated places in western and eastern parts of the state today on Monday. Also there is a possibility of fog during late night and morning in both the parts.
On October 28, scattered rain is expected in the western and eastern parts of the state. Fog is expected in both the parts during late night and morning. According to the Meteorological Department, rain alert has been issued today in Agra, Firozabad, Mainpuri, Etawah and Zalaun. Apart from this, rain is also expected in Hamirpur, Mahoba, Jhansi and Lalitpur.
How will the weather be in Bihar?
The impact of the Bay of Bengal cyclone will reach Bihar. According to IMD, light to moderate rain is likely to occur in Bihar between October 29 and 31. Some districts (Gaya, Bhagalpur, Patna, Muzaffarpur) may experience rain with strong winds and thunder.
Even rain in the mountains
According to the IMD, the latest Western Disturbance will also affect the Western Himalayan region, Jammu and Kashmir, Himachal Pradesh and Uttarakhand from October 27. Uttarakhand is likely to receive light rain from October 27-29, which is likely to increase in cold weather.
